The Mexican president Enrique Pena Nieto says he will not go to the U.S. to meet with American President Donald Trump.
Pena Nieto posted a message on Twitter saying he had informed the White House of his decision.
The announcement comes after Trump tweeted early Thursday that if Mexico was unwilling to pay for the border wall, “it would be better to cancel the upcoming meeting.”
The White House has not yet reacted to the Mexican president’s announcement.
